“Story Behind the Writing of this
Novel”
The Awakening was tremendous fun to write because I
had been writing category romance novels for 15 years and
was finally writing something that fascinated me, something
that I wanted to write. It was also my own personal
awakening into the world of Spirit. I kept having the
strong intuition that I was receiving “help” with the
novel. It didn’t feel like I was really writing the book –
it was writing itself. My plotting consisted of having a
vague notion of where I wanted to go with a chapter then
sitting down to write. It never came out the way I thought
it would but was better than I could have hoped for,
requiring almost no editing. Readers have commented that
the book weaves together like a tightly plotted tapestry.
Strange, considering I didn’t plot a single chapter!
Then, an even more bizarre thing happened. I was about
one-third of the way through the first draft when I was
guided to a spiritual bookstore.
So, here I am in a bookstore and two women are channeling
messages from Archangel Michael about my book:
“You must write this book. Put small things aside and
write quickly. You are receiving help. This book will be a
voice to the world….”
Huh?! Little ol’ me is supposed to be a voice to the
world? Yikes, heavy responsibility. Yet, once I accepted
the responsibility (for me, it took all of about an hour), I
knew this was my path. I wrote The Awakening in
only nine months, while working a busy job and raising two
active teenagers. I also read every book I could find
on spontaneous healings, past-life regression hypnosis, our
higher self, Indigo Children, ascension and all the other
‘new age’ concepts.
My life became very
strange. I began to experience events I couldn’t explain –
like visiting other dimensions in my sleep, odd teachings in
my dreams, enhanced intuitive abilities, a knowingness about
the ‘big picture’, and messages of dark forces that would
try to stop my work. Doors opened up for me whenever I
pursued my path, and I knew this was meant to be. My heart
was singing and my entire outlook on life changed.
I hope you, too, will experience your own spiritual
awakening after reading this book.
